Original Artwork
This series of wall sculptures examines humanity's evolving relationship with natural resources, specifically timber. Using solid oak, the panels are carefully planed and finished before being dramatically slashed at an angle, treated to evoke the contrasting textures of mined fossil fuels. The raw, chiseled, scorched, and stained surfaces interact with the natural oak grain, highlighting timber’s dual nature—as both a raw material and a refined resource.
By incorporating textures found in the natural world, these works introduce organic, unrefined forms into the interior, challenging the dominance of polished, uniform surfaces. They celebrate the inherent beauty of working with living materials, embracing the accidental and the unpredictable.

Our finishes are naturally robust and offer great resistance to spillages, provided they’re wiped up promptly with a damp cloth. For tougher marks, we recommend Osmo spray cleaner, and an annual application of liquid wax cleaner to keep the wood finish looking its best. We also offer a refinishing service, available by quotation, depending on the work needed, refinishing can be done on-site or in our workshop.
